Coping With War On Mental Health- Hoping For Peace

Ouch My Trauma Hurts (OMTH)

We are being bombarded with frightening, threatening, and saddening crises, one after another! There is no time to recover from one before another hits. It is like a war where our mental health is rocked and exploded. Some stay angry, while others feel hopeless and helpless. It is difficult to witness harm to others, like some immigrants. “Carry your papers with you,” is a common cry from their friends and loved ones, employers and supporters. But will that really help?

It is important that no one take over your mental health. Ways to cope with trauma in today’s world must be offered. Skills of recognizing and recovering, over and over, from traumatic events must become part of our mental health survival! We can even see a trauma-informed therapist just as we would get a physical exam.

This is Dr. Marti wishing you many moments of peace during these traumatic times!
